Okay so, ive been reading 2 books actively at the moment. Well, im trying. Im rereading The heartbreak bakery, but only 1 chapter in, i realised it only had 12 chapter with 340 pages.... so I began to read 1 chapter at night and that turned into half a chapter and then I just stopped reading it. Same thing is happening with Six of crows (although its not as bad as The heartbreak bakery) since this has sometimes 5-10 pages a chapter but sometimes also 25 pages!! I need advice or help from someone who is experiencing this aswell because i keep dnfing books im really really enjoying 😭

Hunter x hunter ayooo! But to help you (idk if I will ) , I think it’s the short form content everyone is used to now. I was just like u fr, but I decided to lay off reels / shorts/ TikTok’s and it really helps increase your attention span. Once you get that momentum, it just carries forward by itself! Also dopamine system (reward based reading) helps!

ayyy!!! but wait... that could actually be it!! because since ive been watching reels and shorts i havent even been able to watch a movie without getting on my phone!! dangg waitttt, thats actually such a great theory!! ive been watching reels on 2x speed aswell 😭 I messed up

I was wondering why my attention span was deteriorating lol

i feel like The Inheritance trilogy also messed up my chapter attention span since it had like 2 pages a chapter so now even 10 pages is a challenge

i cant even say i have no time as excuse because i have absolutely all the time in the world because i have no life hahahaAAAHHH😭 cant even do a 24 hour readathon because my tbr is almost finished because of my 24 hour readathon last year. and i genuinely have my kindle AND the physical copy of six of crows on my lap while scrolling 💀

but im NOT FINE AAAHHH😭 i used the excuse that i cant read because everyone is talking tk me while reading and now im home alone and im still not reading like, is this chapter thing another excuse to not read? i dont know anymore! what if i just grew out of my love for reading 😭😭

It’s possible but it’s also possible reading is more boring than watching yt, being on gr, or using socials, talking to family. You just need to get at it and stay there, motivation isn’t found before you start.

i just cant physically pick up the book like im stuck, its like dropping a pencil on the ground in class and trying to grab it with your feet instead of getting up and just picking it up.
