I've had it sitting on my shelf ever since I got it for Christmas, but I can't bring myself to pick it up and read it because I know nothing about it. I've also never read a fantasy book before. Is this a good one to start with?

It actually brought me back into reading after one of those dry reading spells. I really liked it. I read it years ago, today maybe i wouldn't go back to it because I'm almost exclusively into lgbtq+ books now, but i still think the whole series is really good
I think the books were okay and good. The world building is decent and there's some great ideas in there. There are a couple of characters that stood out to me. The story isn't bad, but I don't think it's super original if that makes sense lol. Once you read it, you might pick up that you read very similar books. So I def give it a chance.

I only just got into this series and I am currently on book 4 (the novella). It was a slow start for me, but once I got past the first half I couldn't put it down.
Yes! It’s worth it. The second book is where it all blows up! Do it. The fantasy genre is the best genre and so addictive. X
yes 100% BUT im sorry to say that i hated the first book like i read it and read the second one a YEAR after so please just read the second book and dont wait for a year like i did becuz it gets so good. What i did for my friend was i told her the entire plot of the book scene by scene and gave her the second book to read and she is ocmpletely in love with it now
