I love it!!!

Ooo so basically my English teacher found these love letters in his attic to a lady who owned the house years ago and he had us write poems based off of the letters we read!! So here’s mine:

Cross Your Fingers

I’m sorry.
I know.
I’m a hopeless romantic
Who can’t even form sentences
When they’re about you.
But thank you for your sweet reply.
I crossed my fingers
In hope that you’d understand.
I’d never forgive myself if my words had left your pretty face
Contorted with concern.
I was beginning to think that my luck
Had run dry.

But you can cross your fingers.
I’ve got time away.
It’s not for very long,
But it’ll do just fine.
I keep wondering
If it’s possible
To leave sooner
And be free with you.
I might even finish the car in time
For our escapade.
So cross your fingers,
Cross your fingers
And wish that we fly away.
