So sad. I remember meeting Melodie and her husband Ed at one of the Bouchercon's, and they were special.
Oh no, this is very sad news. We have known Melodie for decades, she was a very dear book friend. Thank you for sharing Sherry. Condolences to Melodie’s husband Ed, and her sister and brother.
I saw it posted on Facebook too awhile ago. So sad to hear. My thoughts and prayers to Ed, family and friends. She will be missed.
Mel was an old-time board member who I will miss. I think she read every book about 60’s, 70’s bands and performers that ever came out. My condolences.
I'm glad you shared this Sherry, just in case people don't see the Facebook post. Our little group has been together for so many years, and I always appreciated Melodie's appreciation of my cozy mysteries. She will be greatly missed.
Thanks, Dan and Susie, for your remembrances. I'd forgotten that she read all those band bios and that she appreciated cozies.

here's the note that her brother and sister posted on her FB page:
To all of Melodie's family, friends and followers:
Hello, this is Kim and Darren, Melodie's sister and brother.
It is with the deepest sadness that we must inform you of Melodie's very sudden passing.
She passed peacefully on a cool rainy night (her favorite), surrounded by her family at the Medical Center of Aurora in Aurora, Colorado on Sunday October the 5th at 11pm.
Melodie will be missed by all of her surviving family, a broad spectrum of friends and especially her husband Ed of over 50 years
Per her wishes, she will be cremated with a private family celebration of life.
If you knew Mel at all, you knew she loved fall, cool rainy days and Halloween. So whenever you're enjoying a nice rain in the fall, please remember and think of Mel.
Thank you for the love, friendship and support you all have shown her over the years.
Respectfully, Kim and Darren
