Hi everyone — I’m Tim Higdem, a dad, night-shift worker, and self-published author who learned the hard way that Roblox isn’t just a “kids’ game.” It’s a massive online universe where millions of players interact every day — and sometimes, that can get a little too close for comfort.

Like most parents, I thought I had everything locked down. My daughter had a child account, and I assumed that meant she was safely limited to kid-appropriate games and couldn’t message strangers.
Then one day I noticed something off — she was chatting with people I didn’t recognize. After digging through the settings, I discovered her account was set to “13 and up,” which quietly opened up more communication features, including text and voice chat. That was a gut-check moment.

That experience changed how I saw Roblox. I realized most parents have no idea how complex the platform has become — or how easy it is for safety settings to be misconfigured. So I started researching.
Months later, that turned into my new book:
“The Complete Parents’ Guide to Roblox — Keep Your Kids Safe While They Play (2025 Edition)”.

This guide breaks down everything Roblox doesn’t explain well — from how to lock down communication tools and set spending limits, to identifying grooming red flags and avoiding scam games that target kids.

Hi everyone,
I’m new here, I’m joining this group after months of telling myself “maybe tomorrow.” Today is apparently tomorrow.

I’m a mother of two. I wrote a book a few months ago called “Before The World Gets To You”. It’s a collection of letters and conversations with my children, things I hope they’ll remember when I’m not around to repeat myself. It started because my children asks me questions I didn’t have answers to as a child, things I wish someone had told me growing up. I didn’t want them to carry that same emptiness.

I grew up as the youngest of seven siblings in Mizoram, Northeast India. I married into a completely different culture—my husband is Punjabi—so our kids are growing up somewhere between two worlds. A lot of the book is me trying to help them navigate that.
I’m not great at promoting or being visible. I’m more of a “stay home with tea and a book” person. But I do want my book to reach the parents who might need it, or the young adults who feel a bit lost, or anyone who didn’t have the answers growing up either.
Anyway, I’m here to learn, to listen, and maybe to share when it feels right.

Sir George, The First Rising

Hi all!
My name is Andrew Barton. I am a youth director for a church in the state of Missouri. I recently published the book titled, Sir George, the First Rising. This is the first book in the Dragonisheir series.
It is a fantasy book following the adventures of Sir George, his friend Sir Gawain, and Olly the talking horse who only knows five words. After being given a sword by a minotaur (a creature that is half man and half ox) George is sent on a quest to rescue the king's daughter from Uther Pendragon. The story takes place in a fantasy world of dragons, talking animals, trolls, and knights, with characters from the Arthurian legend, the legend of St. George and the Dragon, and other fairy tales.

The book was originally written for teens, however I have also had positive feedback and interest from adults and parents, as well as one student in grade school.

One review said, "This is incredible. It carries a modern Pilgrim's Progress style to it. A must read with my family!"

I have had a lot of interest from grandparents wanting to buy the book for their grandkids.

The book is clean. There is fighting in it, but it is not graphic. My recomendation age wise would be 5th grade to adult.

The stories for these books were originally created by me and my siblings when we were kids, and recently I have been putting those stories into book format.

If you are looking for clean fantasy books for your kids, with dragons, knights, and talking animals, then you may enjoy this book.
