What are challenges?

Participating in challenges is a great way to get to know fellow readers and motivate yourself to read more. The goal is to earn as many points as possible- ways to earn points are listed below! Challenges are as competitive as you want them to be.

TEAMS

There are two teams. Team 1 will be Team Ana and Team 2 will be Team Graveyard Shift Skeletons. Once we come up with team names we will update this.

START/FINISH DATE

This challenge starts on Friday, October 24th and ends on Thursday November 27th. The winning team will be announced on Friday, November 28th!

How fast do you read? (on a scale from 1-5, 5 being fastest)
How active are you planning to be? (on a scale from 1-5, 5 being most active, meaning logging all books you read, trying to complete prompts, etc.)

RULES

⚓️You can only repeat activity prompts 4 times per activity prompt. Book and writing prompts are unlimited.
⚓️Audio books count, graphic novels also count but they do need to be at least 100 pages.
⚓️DNF’ed books count but you must have read at least 100 pages.
⚓️Respect everyone
⚓️Have fun!!

WAYS TO EARN POINTS

☀️You’ll earn points depending on how long the book you read is:

100-200 pages =+1 point
201-300 pages =+2 points
301-400 pages =+3 points
401-500 pages =+4 points
501-600 pages =+5 points
601 pages= +6 points

and so on…

☀️You’ll earn points depending on how long your review or writing prompt is (remember, both of these are optional):

Less than 50 words = +2 point
50-100 words = +3 point
101-150 words =+4 points
151-200 words = +5 points
201-250 words = +6 points
251-300 words = +7 points

and so on…

☀️Everyone will get to make points based on the star rating of the book. The points system is right here for that.

1 star ⭐- +1 point
2 stars ⭐- +2 points
3 stars ⭐- +3 points
4 stars ⭐- +4 points
5 stars ⭐- +5 points

☀️Complete prompts! Remember, you can only use activity prompts 3 times per prompt. Book and writing prompts are unlimited.

Anything else we should know: We will be out of the country from Oct 26-Nov 23. Oct 24-25 & Nov 23-24 will be travel home days. When we arrive home our best friends will already be at our house (they arrived 22nd). They will be awaiting us and visiting with our granddaughter. 😂 The 2 most wonderful things when we get home will be
1) we will see our granddaughter, Adelaide, who will be 2 years old on Nov 27th, Thanksgiving Day. ((She will probably be at our house waiting on us with our daughter, Alicia, and SIL 🙏🏻 when we arrive home on the 24th. 😁))
She is the bright light in our lives! A true blessing. 😇
2) we will get to see our dog, Pretty (German shepherd/lab mix), who has been staying with our best friends while we’ve been away so much.
I do plan to check in daily. Try to read as much as possible. Work towards prompts and bonus points.
Never did this before team but I will commit and do my best. Maybe a few reminder would help. ☺️
