omg Jeffery Dahmer is such a unique one, I like this case the most because I'm pretty sure he converted to Christianity before he died. Of course we don't know his heart before his death but I can hope.

No offense to religion or anything at all, but I don’t care if he converted before he died- he ate people, he does not deserve to be saved.

Tbh (my point of view) he doesn’t deserve to go to Heaven but it really is up to the Lord where he goes and if he believes in Christ like he says he does he unfortunately goes to Heaven

I know, none of us deserve to be saved we are all sinners, and he had his earthly punishment for his crimes, anyone can be saved tho because Jesus is amazing, I don't want to go on about that tho lol. I just believe Jesus can save anybody and yes he didn't deserve to be saved but that never stops Jesus

He did convert to Christianity in the time before his death, including getting baptized. I don't think this changes his actions though.

He killed 17 people, almost 18 (Tracy Edwards thankfully survived) and to all of them committed horrendous and vile acts upon. The youngest being 14 year old Konerak Sinthasomphone, fourteen years old.

I may not be religious but I'd say he is surely not in a good place wherever he is. At least I hope.

I think with him, it's interesting how Netflix created a show about him. I've never watched it, but I've seen some backlash from true crime creators I've watched/listened to. Anyone else's thoughts on it?

I watched the first couple episodes and the tapped out because it was very sexual.. like I didn’t need to know Jeffery making love to a mannequin like..? It’s not my thing at all in general so to have multiple scenes like that was an ick. Maybe i’ll go back but i highly doubt it

Oh, that honestly sounds rough. Almost sounds a bit like romanticization, I agree with not knowing why on earth they'd add those in (yes, it may be a thing the actually Dahmer did but including scenes of it is a bit weird in my opinion).

@Ollie ofc, i think they “romanticized” bc they wanted everything from Dahmer’s POV and in his mind it was romanticized, so they did capture that part right, but it was just too much for me

I’ve never seen the series but I do know the lead actor Evan Peters who played Dahmer was so traumatized he took a break from acting. He is just now returning to his career next year!

I watched the movie, not the show but I think the main issue people had with the series was that the victims families got little to no warning- or compensation and it was very insensitive. Imagine you get a show romanticizing your family members/best friends/wtv's death and aren't even getting money or really permission for your face or interviews to be shown.

I agree with that, making a movie/show based on an actual serial killer with actual victims, even from the serial killer's "perspective" for romanticizing his acts, is very insensitive to families and victims.

I think I remember how KallmeKris in her deep dive about him mentioned how in the show, Dahmer and Tony Hughes' (one of his victims) relationship seemed to have added things onto it, to make it more like they were in a longer relationship beforehand and to more romanticise their "love". When in reality Tony Hughes' death was just as tragic and he was not in any previous or long relationships with Dahmer. I think it's a bit icky to have to add more romance to a victim's story to make it "hit harder". So that's my two cents.
