W.D. Clarke (wdclarke) | 9 comments Not sure if y'all on other socials and know this already, but Rick had a stroke last week, and was put in an induced coma. The latest Rick Harsch news I have (via Cult of the Cactus Boots author Philip Freedenberg from Monday) is that Rick's surgery went well, he is out of danger, and they were slowly waking him up from over the past few days... if anyone else has more recent news, please keep us in the loop!

I asked c\s typesetter/cover designer Zach Tanner this question, will get back to you. He's very open with his email if you wanted to email him tho... rick.harsch@gmail.com ...perhaps his wife or daughter will see? Dunno

W.D. Clarke (wdclarke) | 9 comments Oh yeah, one other thing I floated to Zach was the possibility of some kind of group read of one of Rick's novels...that'd lift his spirits, I think. Zach thought one of his ignored masterpieces would hit the spot...Arjun, say, or Olaf Palme...just at the spitballin' stage tho

ReemK10 (Paper Pills) | 7 comments Thank you for updating us. We continue to pray for a full recovery.

W.D. Clarke (wdclarke) | 9 comments From his pal writer Louis Armand on Xhitter:

Rick Harsch update: Rick is awake & interacting, which is good news. The stroke was serious & his recovery is expected to take some time. I'll relay any further developments anon

ReemK10 (Paper Pills) | 7 comments This is good news! With time, physical therapy and occupational therapy, Rick will bounce back. He has the fortitude to do so!

Paul Dembina | 3 comments I'm a bit late to this but was shocked to hear about Rick's stroke. I wish him a good recovery

ReemK10 (Paper Pills) | 7 comments I wonder if it was a hemorrhagic stroke. It will take time. The brain is an amazing organ. He will regain his speech and mental faculties. Does anyone know which side of the body was affected and how badly?
