With a finger
I stop a train
a mass of around four hundred and sixty tons
forty-two thousand kilos
six thousand times mine
that my digits stop on a dime

With my hand resting on the console
with three fingers half bent for support
and my thumb for balance
my index finger meets no resistance
like when I press on a keyboard

But nothing happens...

I just picked up Driver by Mattia Filice a novel in verse and prose just released. The opening lines are above and I am looking to get to it soon.


But first I want to read the earlier purchase, The Autobiography of H. Lan Thao Lam by Lana Lin which is one of their Dorothy releases and was longlisted for the National Book Award for nonfiction 2025.
