Irene Wittig | 1 comments Hi - I am new to this group but not to Goodreads. My website all-that-lingers.com is focused on my novel "All That Lingers" but also includes my other books.
Recently, like most indie authors, I have been overwhelmed by AI generated marketing offers. Some are so well written that I have incorporated some of their phrases in my book descriptions on Amazon. It makes me wonder how they found my books (which are in different categories) since I have not been able to find them through ChatGPT.
Has anyone accepted any of the offers? Has anything good come of it?

Carolyn Quinn (carolynquinn) | 2 comments Greetings! I'm new to this group and happy to be here! My name is Carolyn Summer Quinn and I'm the Author of 20 books with more in the works. I'm from Brooklyn, New York!

Michael Webb (michaeljackwebb) | 2 comments Good Morning, All--Michael Jack Webb here. Just received a prompt from GR to join this group. Looking forward to interacting with you. I've been writing supernatural thrillers for quite some time now. I've been both traditionally and Indy published and am now focused on the Indy side. I have 7 thrillers on Amazon, and 1 non-fiction. I write under both Michael J Webb and my full name above. I've been blessed to reach Best Seller status for two of my novels and hoping for more, lol. Recently finished my 8th supernatural thriller in the Justice Chronicles series I hope will be ongoing for the foreseeable future. Planning on releasing Jackal in January. Currently working on Book 3 in the same series and researching Book 3 in the War of Men and Angels series titled Light Bringer (Infernal Gates and Devil's Cauldron are the first two). Completed a Pilot script for a 5-8 episode TV miniseries of my award-winning 4th thriller, The Oldest Enemy (also an audiobook), this Spring and have strong interest from 7 major production companies. Hope to nail down a sale/contract before the end of the year! Re-releasing my very first three novels after the first of the year as well, The Giants in the Earth trilogy, with updates and new covers. Keep and eye out. They're special to me and I hope they will be for you, :) I'll post my Amazon link and my website link under the conversation, Share My Books, or you can see them here on GR. I firmly believe we are in a very exciting season as Indy Authors. Time to have our voices heard like never before. For most of us it has been a long time coming, but keep faith, keep writing, and to paraphrase Winston Churchill: Never, never, never give up . . . .

Ryan Morris (ryanmorris) | 1 comments Hi! I'm from Vancouver (Canada) and am the author of 5 published Literary Fiction novels, the editor of 1 collection of indie author short fiction, and always busy working on a variety of other things.
You can find me, and links to all my works on my website: rtimmorris.com
I'm always happy to discover new readers and I love interacting with them, and I do enjoy finding new indie authors to follow and connect with on the same levels.

message 5: by Brian (new)

Brian K. Morris (briankmorris) | 1 comments Happy to be here! I've been a writer since I could reach the typewriter (that dates me!) keys, a paid writer since 1997, and a full-timer since 2012.

I write in many genres, but mostly in New Pulp-flavored Action/Adventure, Horror, and non-fiction articles. My work tends to be fun with a touch of humor, no matter how dark things get.

I'm here to learn and to share. Good meeting you all.

message 6: by Isobelle (new)

Isobelle Cate (isobelle_cate) | 1 comments Hello, I'm Isobelle Cate, paranormal romance author of the Cynn Cruors Bloodline Series and it's spin-off, the Firebinders Series. I have another paranormal romance series called the Dragon Hearts series and a contemporary romance series. However, I've been concentrating on the Cynn Cruors and Firebinders at the moment. They are vampire-werewolf hybrids (Cynn Cruors) and long living mortals with lava level fire in their blood (Firebinders). I've returned after a hiatus from writing and getting my feet wet again! I think that writers do need to take a break and get away from the laptop/desktop to gain persective in writing. Sometimes writing too much isn't just a breeding ground for writer's block; but when you lose perspective, it is possible to no longer want to write. The hiatus was very much needed. Glad to enter the writing world again, be here and meet all of you. :)

Mark Robertson | 2 comments Hello all, hope you are well. Mark Robertson here - author of, "From Handbags to Hand Grenades" and struggling to climb the mountain called book promotion and selling. Seems to me that unless you have a cool half a million to spend then you've got no chance of getting anywhere. Tell me your experiences of the high's and low's of selling as I'd love to hear your thoughts too.

From Handbags to Hand Grenades is a true story of an inspirational woman and can be found on Amazon here... https://www.amazon.com/Handbags-Hand-...

Aswanth Madhav | 1 comments Hello Everyone, I am Aswanth Madhav , I focus my writing style on trying to make the readers feel and imagine the feelings and the story rather than just reading it . I have written 2 books , 1. Simply Yours 2. The Hotel , Simply yours takes you through the meaning of love as i see it , The hotel is a psychological thriller . I am currently trying to figure out my ways to make my writing reach people and get reviews , but as it so happens getting people to read something new without actually being established is pretty hard .

message 9: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Patt | 1 comments Hi! I am new to this group. Writing is just one of my many passions. Committed to physical fitness for most of my life, I dedicate 90 minutes a day to the gym after working as a one-on-one tutor for children with language-based learning disabilities. My active lifestyle also includes playing pickleball, biking, and swimming. I am a mom to three young adults forging their paths. I enjoy strategy-based games like Backgammon, Scrabble, and Rummy 500, and am an avid reader of autobiographies, historical fiction, and books that promote empathy and moral character development.
I am a strong advocate for adopting pets from shelters and embracing sustainable practices. I believe in recycling, reusing, and repurposing to reduce waste. I believe that learning never stops, and perseverance is key. To me, success isn’t measured by wealth but by the number of lives one touches.
In my next life, I dream of being more than just the Boston Celtics’ number one fan—I hope to be part of the organization in any capacity.

message 10: by Scott (new)

Scott Lothian | 4 comments Hello, I am a retired oncology/IT pharmacist. My storytelling style and structure are eclectic, but always character-driven and filled with tales of real life, history, and humor. I believe authors have a contract with the reader to write a complete story, and if I do not keep readers up at night, thinking about the characters and wondering where they are now, long after they have finished reading, then I am not doing my job.

Thus far, I have four published novels:
The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy:
Perfect Posture (The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy) by Scott Lothian Perfect Posture: a cop-vs-killer psychological thriller set in Chicago - The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy Book 1
Deep Waters (The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy) by Scott Lothian Deep Waters: a historical mystery thriller about the extraordinary life of a sailor who survived the sinking of the USS Indianapolis - The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy Book 2
Daddy's Girl a not-what-it-seems father-daughter murder mystery/suspense thriller - The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy Book 3 by Scott Lothian Daddy's Girl: a not-what-it-seems father-daughter murder mystery/suspense thriller - The Jonathan Dearfield Trilogy Book 3

And a new biotech thriller:
The Resistance Gene a genetic showdown between profit-driven science and the untamed resistance of life itself by Scott Lothian The Resistance Gene: a genetic showdown between profit-driven science and the untamed resistance of life itself

Thank you for listening!
Live to read . . . read to live . . .

Maritza Mejia | 1 comments I’m Maritza M. Mejia, an indie author who believes in the power of storytelling to unite hearts and cultures. Writing in both English and Spanish allows me to reach readers across borders and share the beauty of two worlds that shape my voice.

My indie journey began with a simple desire — to tell stories that matter and inspire others to become their best selves. Through poetry, non-fiction, and bilingual fiction for children and adults, I explore themes of faith, respect, tolerance, and environmental justice.

Follow my journey as I continue exploring new stories, voices, and ways to inspire.

I appreciate your support!🌷www.luzdelmes.com

message 13: by Donna (new)

Donna (dbsnow) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Donna. I've been writing since my college days. Had my first romance published about 30 years ago, as well as several others. I write mostly Christian romances and most currently a non-fiction book about why people should read the Bible.

I have worked as an editor for several e-publishers as well as a proofreader if anyone is in need of services.

I still work a full time job so I have gone many dry years in between books. I am looking forward to changing that, as well as finding ways to draw attention to my books.

I happily share posts for others, having run a blog in prior years... donnabsnow.blogspot.com

Past, Present, and Future: Why Everyone Should Read the Bible

message 15: by Bruce (new)

Bruce Humphrey (bruceahumphrey) | 4 comments Hello! My name is Bruce A. Humphrey, and I have recently published a book of poetry. It is my first book in this genre. I usually write novels. I want to present this for your perusal to see if I am on the right track.

This is a short sample of one of the poems. What do you think?

Want or Will
How does a hungering child wait in silence before being fed?
How does a starving soldier march for miles to fight a battle?
How do a peoples have the will to fight for their lives?

How does a person needing friendship able to move forward?
How does a soul longing for love continue on?
How does a human thirsting for loyalty keep showing confidence?

How does an individual looking for trust wait for that one day?
How does a person who wants the truth wait against the lies?
How do people who are being oppressed endure an onslaught?

message 22: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Hein | 1 comments Hi All-

I'm wondering how you write, and I mean literally (no pun intended.) I compose mainly on my laptop, which I would lug to work so I could do some editing in my car before I face the day, as well as writing on my lunch hour. Lately, however, I tired of packing my cumbersome computer and began writing again in a notebook. I've rediscovered the magic of thoughts flowing from brain to pen to paper. Something happens that's hard to explain...my outline transforms into scenes I'd never planned. It's fun, and I go with the flow, but I'm often left asking myself, "Wow, where did that come from?"

By the way, I take my lunch, notebook, and pen to the back stairwell where my fellow coworkers cannot find me and steal my precious writing time with social interactions. Don't get me wrong, I'm far from anti-social, but I can converse with them throughout the work day. If I sit in the break room and chat, my new novel will never be finished and the magical muse who visits me in the gloomy stairwell will most assuredly not possess me under those fluorescent lights. The beep of the microwave is the death knell of creativity.

On weekends and evenings (if I have the energy after being drained by my worker bee 9-5 existence) I transcribe my notebook pages into my Word doc. I copy each sentence as written (sometimes scrawled) and edit later. I have a fantasy that, someday, literary scholars will borrow my notebooks from the collection stored at the local university and peruse my scribblings. Ha! My imagination extends beyond my books and into my silly daydreams.

Anyway, enough about me, how do you all write?

message 23: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Slice | 1 comments Hi everyone!

While I haven't yet published a novel. I have had a poem published in a newsletter years ago. I've also done some fan fiction on a website.
I'm likely the only person you'll find who has fifty wips!

Now in Seattle, I’m a married grandpa of 3 and busy writing my books of wild 1960s adventures, more honest about it than most chroniclers of my era, but I write when our hectic life allows. message 25: by Minnie (last edited Dec 04, 2025 05:40PM) (new)

Minnie . | 7 comments Hi everyone,

I wish I knew this before!

This book is a practical and heartfelt guide designed to spark positive change - within families, friendships, and the wider society.

As children, we're taught how to read and write, we learn Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. But we are never taught about our feelings. We don't learn how our brain works, or why our mind makes us feel sad, irritated, or overwhelmed. I wish that I had learned how to manage my emotions, before I got married or before I had my kids.

In this simple yet powerful journey, you'll discover:

- How we can process and handle emotions like anger, anxiety, frustration, and fear

- Why we think and react the way we do, and how to change it

- How to build healthier relationships with friends, family, and yourself

- Practical steps to overcome bullying, self-doubt, and emotional struggles

It's a practical guide that distils the wisdom of hundreds of books and documentaries, combined with insights from self-realization and lived experiences.

My vision is for it to serve as a bridge between the readers, be it friends, family or co-workers - helping both understand themselves and each other better. To be able to see each other from a different lens and perception. To be kinder, more understanding and supportive. To be able to initiate a deep conversation with empathy and compassion.

Written in a short, crisp, and visually engaging format, it's designed to help readers work together toward healthier, more connected lives.

This book is not just another parenting guide or a typical mindfulness book.

It is a Transformational Tool.

It explores friendships, bullying, emotions, feelings, practical healing tools, and supportive parenting approaches.

It empowers anyone who reads it - whether you're preparing for a relationship, planning to become a parent, or already navigating the journey of parenthood. Because how we make others feel directly shapes the strength, warmth, and harmony of our relationships.

We climb the ladder of success, only to realize we're still unhappy, anxious, or lonely. Let this book be your guide to understand how the brain, mind and emotions work, helping you take back control of your life.

So don't just add this book to your reading list and forget - buy it today. The wisdom it carries is precious, powerful, and life-changing.
I am giving away free promo codes for Audio Book on Audible, message me if you are interested.

I am looking for support from fellow authors and readers, to share and to write reviews!

Rian Kross | 1 comments Hello everyone! / Hello everyone! 📚✨
I am very happy to join this community of book lovers.
My name is T.I. Horia and I am an author passionate about fantasy worlds, suspense and technology. I write out of the desire to explore the limits of imagination and to create heroes in which readers can find themselves, regardless of the universe they are in.
Maybe you have met me under my real name or maybe you have discovered my stories under the pseudonym Rian Kross, which I use especially for my works in the Cyberpunk and Dark Sci-Fi area, such as the Zero Frequency Rider series.
I chose to use this pseudonym to differentiate the universes I create:
Under the name T.I. Horia, I focus on action and suspense stories, such as "The Deadly Game of Knights".
Under the name Rian Kross, I invite you to the dystopian future of Neo-Veridia, alongside my protagonist, Lisandra.
I'm here not only as an author, but also as an avid reader. I love discovering new perspectives and having discussions about the books that mark us.
If you like adrenaline-filled adventures, occult mysteries, or the future marked by AI, I'd love to connect! You can find my author pages on Amazon and Goodreads by searching for both names.
I can't wait to find out what you're reading during this time and to exchange recommendations!
All the best,

Sue Wickstead | 1 comments Hi, my name is Sue Wickstead, and I have written sixteen children's picture storybooks to date, as well as a photographic history book.
The photographic history book was the story behind a Playbus Charity, which I was once involved in. The book was the start of my story-writing journey
Having written the social history book about the charity project, I thought that would be the end of my writing, but no.
The children I met on my teaching journey were curious as to what a playbus was and asked lots of questions. The questions led me to tell the story of the Playbus, which in turn led to the storybooks.

My stories all have a bus in them somewhere. The stories are inspired by my play-work and teaching, as well as my playtime fun with my grandson and granddaughter.
My website is www.suewickstead.co.uk

message 29: by Grace (new)

Grace Penny | 1 comments Hi everyone,
My pseudonym is Grace Penny, and I'm an aspiring author with a debut novel, Fractured: Chasing Home, coming next spring.
I’m fascinated by the depths of the human condition: identity, connection and abandonment, trauma and healing, the quiet power of kindness, self-determination, and resilience in the face of harshness. My stories explore these themes through a symbolic lens, often interwoven with soft sci-fi elements that support the emotional journey at their core.
I’m truly delighted to be here among fellow writers and readers. It’s a pleasure to share this journey with you all.
