January 2026 Mini Challenge

RULES

** Books DO NOT all have to be mysteries. You can use any genres.

** A book can be used only once for this challenge, but can be used for other challenges (Seasonal, World Trip, Ultimate, etc.).

** You DO NOT have to choose books in advance, and can change your mind at any time if you do.

** Do as many as you are able and have fun!

1. January 1 is New Year’s Day, the start of a new year: Read the first book in any series, such as a book by this month’s featured author.

2. January 5 is National Bird Day: Read a book with a bird on the cover.

3. January is National Hobby Month: Read a book featuring your favorite hobby or pastime.

4. January 10 is Houseplant Appreciation Day: Read a book with a plant or flowers on the cover.

5. January 27 is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day. According to Heather’s coworkers, she is injured so often, she should be encased in bubble wrap: Whether it’s a paper cut, a minor burn while baking or an attack by a would-be killer, read a book featuring someone who is injured (does NOT halve to be a main character).

Rainsong - by Phyllis A. Whitney

Death at a Scottish Wedding - by Lucy Connelly - characters are poisoned with one dying from poison, plus the main character creamed by a gargoyle pushed over above her.

This was a fun challenge :)
