I picked up Butter from a neighbour's giveaway, thinking it would probably be useful for a prompt, and I was right! I am also reading Black Cake.
Options areAutomatic Noodle
Sourdough
Trout Fishing in America
The Egg and I
Onions in the Stew
The Telling Room: A Tale of Love, Betrayal, Revenge, and the World's Greatest Piece of Cheese
Edible: An Adventure into the World of Eating Insects and the Last Great Hope to Save the Planet. Eeewwww! Noooo.Black Cake
Three Apples Fell from the Sky
Heart Berries
I need a new chocolate book.
These don’t fit this prompt, but I might take a look.
Edible Economics: A Hungry Economist Explains the World
The Layered Edible Garden: A Beginner's Guide to Creating a Productive Food Garden Layer by Layer – From Ground Covers to Trees and Everything in Between. I really miss the apple tree in my old house.
My goal next year is to get as many books as possible off my TBR list (especially ones that have been on it a long time). I think I'm going to try The Grapes of Wrath. My favourite grape recipe is to open a bottle of wine. :)
I've had a book on my TBR for awhile: Chocolate: The Consuming Passion. Seems like it might be perfect for this if I can find a copy, though it's at neither of the libraries I have access to.From recent reads, I also recommend Black Cake, Land of Milk and Honey, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and Arsenic and Adobo (half-edible, half not!).
I voted for this prompt, but then really struggled to find something for it, until I read about Penguin and Club biscuits recently being downgraded from chocolate to some kind of chocolate-adjacent substance and fell down the rabbit hole of food brand names in book titles. I've chosen The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle by Matt Cain in honour of my all-time favourite chocolate bar, the Secret. It was discontinued by the evil tyrants at Nestle over 20 years ago, but I still dream about these!
For a reason I cannot explain, I had The Spoon Stealer slotted here. Clearly it does NOT meet the prompt requirements.I looked through the Listopia and found Giant's Bread by Mary Westmacott, also known as Agatha Christie. I've always wanted to read the Mary Westmacott books, so I'm going to make that another personal reading goal for 2026.
Current possibilities:The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse
Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World
Why Fish Don’t Exist: A Story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life
Noodles on a Bicycle

I am reading Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandayafor this one.
I don't cook, so my favorite recipe is Onion soup dip. (Which would pair perfectly with Dubhease's wine!)I plan to read Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson

These 2 nonfiction titles keep catching my eye. Banana sounds like a microhistory.
