Yummy yummy! This week is all about food. Or not. The prompt doesn't say it needs to be good or even appetizing, just edible. But let's be honest, some people love talking about food- this is your week!

ATY Listopia https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

So what are you reading? Would you eat that edible thing in the title? Any favorite recipes?

LeahS | 1483 comments I picked up Butter from a neighbour's giveaway, thinking it would probably be useful for a prompt, and I was right! I am also reading Black Cake.

Dubhease | 1250 comments My goal next year is to get as many books as possible off my TBR list (especially ones that have been on it a long time). I think I'm going to try The Grapes of Wrath.

My favourite grape recipe is to open a bottle of wine. :)

Joanna G (joanna_g) | 412 comments I've had a book on my TBR for awhile: Chocolate: The Consuming Passion. Seems like it might be perfect for this if I can find a copy, though it's at neither of the libraries I have access to.

From recent reads, I also recommend Black Cake, Land of Milk and Honey, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and Arsenic and Adobo (half-edible, half not!).

Marie | 1119 comments I voted for this prompt, but then really struggled to find something for it, until I read about Penguin and Club biscuits recently being downgraded from chocolate to some kind of chocolate-adjacent substance and fell down the rabbit hole of food brand names in book titles.

I've chosen The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle by Matt Cain in honour of my all-time favourite chocolate bar, the Secret. It was discontinued by the evil tyrants at Nestle over 20 years ago, but I still dream about these!

Charlsa (cjbookjunkie) | 727 comments For a reason I cannot explain, I had The Spoon Stealer slotted here. Clearly it does NOT meet the prompt requirements.

I looked through the Listopia and found Giant's Bread by Mary Westmacott, also known as Agatha Christie. I've always wanted to read the Mary Westmacott books, so I'm going to make that another personal reading goal for 2026.

I doubt you are alone! ;)

I am reading Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandayafor this one.

GailW (abbygg) | 772 comments I don't cook, so my favorite recipe is Onion soup dip. (Which would pair perfectly with Dubhease's wine!)

I plan to read Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson

Unless you’re a cannibal. (!?) 😖

These 2 nonfiction titles keep catching my eye. Banana sounds like a microhistory.
