This was a lovely read but I think I would of liked it better as an audio, just to lean into the storytelling theme of the book

It'll be a re-read for me. Hoping to squeeze it into the next turf round, if not it'll be the last week of nov.

I don't remember all of it, but I do know I really enjoyed the narrative voice. the audio was excellent, done by Juliet Stevenson who always does a great job.

Aw. Now I want the audio. I do love the prose, and have just a few chapters left in my reread.

Just finished my re-read of this one. The story came flooding back very quickly as soon as I started listening to this.

and the audio is still great. definitely recommend!

I have only read one other book by Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale, which I also enjoyed, even if it was a little overhyped, IMO.

I loved the Thirteenth Tale. I read it when it came out and missed the hype, so I had no expectations beyond a good cover and and interesting sounding story.

I liked this one better though, I think.

Yeah, I didn't catch it until about 5 years ago.

I enjoyed this one more too, but there's not much in it.
