Fantasy Book Club Series discussion

Have you finished reading Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff, book 1 in the Empire of the Vampire trilogy? What did you think of it? Strengths? Weak points?

I loved this book! I figured out that they were going to sacrifice Dior long before Gabriel figured it out. I think it surprised me a little that Chloe would go along with it.

I love throughout the book that Gabriel keeps saying better to be a bastard than a fool. It really fit most of his actions.

There was a lot I laughed at in this book as well as a few moments where I teared up. I also loved all the artwork throughout the book. I just ordered the next 2 books in the series and I'm looking forward to finishing the story.

There is quite a bit of foreshadowing that he manages to kill the Forever King (probably in book 3), so I'm curious how he manages it. Likely with the help of Dior. Although maybe she dies in the process since they allude to Gabriel losing her.

Right!!!! I did the audiobook ( while I am at work) and I have all of the books because the art work is so well done. I absolutely loved this book, and the second but I am waiting to read the third with the group... It is dark, funny, gut retching, and absolutely glorious
