I've tried to read Neuromancer a number of times in the past and failed to get past Chapter 1. Going to try again and see if do better this time. :)
I read this one in 2016 too. Rated it two stars. I do remember some of this one though. Thought it was a pity I didn't like it, I like cyberpunk in general.
I read this one many many years ago. Cyberpunk isn't really my thing but I thought I should read this as a classic of the genre. I thought it was just okay but that's more about my personal preferences than anything else!
I have been looking forward for months into getting back to this one. -- But -- It is checked out from my library!!! I am so TO'd. I have a self-imposed moratorium to buying new books, but I may have to break it. I will join in as soon as I can.
I reacall the 4th season (I believe) of The X Files wherein Steven King wrote one episode about a possessed doll. It was Myeh, a little interesting, but didn't really fit the mood of the show. The next week was an episode written by william Gibson. It was cyberpunk, and it was fantastic! Cinematically it did everything right. King usually converts to film extremely well, but in that case he was distanced by his cyberpunk peer. So I think it is always beneficial to get back to Gibson and cyberpunk's roots...because sometimes -- just sometimes -- cyberpunk pays off in ways that other esoterics do not.
