Tundra is a vast, treeless plain found in cold regions, characterized by permafrost (permanently frozen ground), low-growing vegetation like mosses and lichens, and short growing seasons
RAB with snow and no trees on the cover
The word tundra comes from Russian, but before that from the indigenous Lapp people. Read a book featuring indigenous people anywhere in the world. The tundra is the coldest of the biomes (fitting for Winter SRC!) Read a book whose title includes a word from this list: Snow, Ice, Icy, Cold, Cool, Chill, Freeze, Freezing, Frigid, Cool, Arctic.
Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI is also known as “The Frozen Tundra”. To commemorate that, read a book set in Wisconsin or a book where football (US football) plays a role.
The solstice occurs in December. Summer Solstice in the Southern hemisphere and Winter Solstice in the Northern. This could be used for two different tasks: one task, read of of the shortest books on your TBR, a second task, read one of the longest books on your TBR.
To add to my last post, to celebrate the old year read the last ( or most recent) book in a series or a book by a longtime favorite author. Year end has two holidays where the Eve of the holiday is important. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Read a book where eve can be found intact in a title word or author name.
Noel or A'phabet Day No "L" Day
Noel is another word for Christmas. Christians celebrate Christmas on December 25th. Also celebrated on this day is A'phabet Day or No "L" Day."
Option A: 2 book task
Book 1: Read a book that has NO "L" in the title and author name. (Subtitles may be ignored.)
Book 2: Read a book with an MPG of Christmas.
Option B: Read one book that satisfies both of the above requirements.
Have a Holly, Jolly, Hallmark Christmas
You can't escape the holidays without watching at least one or a dozen Hallmark Christmas movies. Get your holly, jolly on by reading a book with a title word that exactly matches a word from the attached list of Hallmark movie titles from 2000 - 2024.("The, and, or a" may not be used.)

The Winter Olympics will occur in Italy during the Challenge. Read a book
RAB set in Italy. RAB featuring an athlete or athletes. RAB where one of the winter Olympic sports is featured. RAB where author initials are in WINTER OLYMPICS.
The first recorded instance of Santa Claus entering homes via the chimney comes from American author Washington Irving. In the early 1800s, he published a satirical work with a long-winded title: A History of New York from the Beginning of the World to the End of the Dutch Dynasty by Diedrich Knickerbocker. In this humorous account, Irving describes St. Nicholas “riding jollily among the treetops or over the roofs,” occasionally pulling presents from his pockets and dropping them down chimneys. At times, he even mentions Santa “rattling down the chimneys” himself to deliver gifts.
Read a book with a Chimney on the cover
Born For This
The Toyota Tundra, manufactured in North America by Japanese automaker, Toyota, is a luxury full-size pickup truck born to handle your everyday needs in comfort or tackle rugged terrain for the weekend warrior.
Read a book with a pickup truck on the cover or read a book by an author who was born or lives in Japan.

The bonus theme is Biomes- Tundra
As in past challenges some tasks may revolve around the seasonal theme of Winter . Others may reflect the bonus theme. Other tasks may have nothing to do with either of those themes, they’re just fun or unique ideas to stimulate your reading.
Feel free to post as many ideas as you can come up with. Don’t worry about repeating what someone else has might have already suggested. The more ideas, the better!
The moderators will draw from these ideas as well as their own to create the 5, 10 and 15 point tasks. This thread will be open for ideas until November 15 . Fall tasks will begin to be posted November 21st. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
