Play Book Tag discussion

The cover is beautiful with it's muted, foggy scene, the horse, the buggy, the ocean, the beach, the sun just barely shining through, but it is so dull and gray. That is just what Thomas life is as he trudges out to the ocean on a daily basis to scrape the sea for its harvest of shrimp, becoming wet and soaking to the bone and returning to the small and dirty house with a mom who is not effusive, loving.

The grayness, bleakness of it with this sad soul, Thomas not yet twenty longing for something to lift him out of this gray, dull existence. And then there is a possibility.

I so wanted to love this more and yet it was a short novel.
