Below by Laurel HightowerDreamcatcher by Stephen King
Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell Jr., maybe, I can't remember when exactly it takes place, but the where is very, very cold and snowy
Dark Matter by Michelle Paver actually takes place in late Fall but it's way up North in the Arctic Circle so, make of that what you will
Hell House by Richard Matheson, takes place in the week leading up to Christmas, but that's only barely acknowledged by the characters
@ CEC To be honest I never read the book, who goes there?, but I do know the movie, The Thing (the 80's remake, not the 2011 prequel to the 80's remake) very different from the book from what I have heard
@Sarah in my opinion, yeah, but kinda? As in, the OG The Thing from Another World (1951) is closer in plot while The Thing (1982) is closer in themes to Who Goes There?, if that matters any
