Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Question.
I know that there are groups where you need permission to join. I also read a long time ago that the private groups' admins had the ability to rescind permission. What about this group? With the spate of so-called "book club" ads from people who may or may not actually exist it seems that they do not seem to be adhering to the mission statement for this particular group. Add in the fact that they are posting the nonsense in folders that only GR itself should post in and it all just feels slimy.

So, my question is, has this group ever rescinded admission?

Spammers in any form should be flagged & Support will/should delete their account.
Edit: If this doesn't happen use the Contact Us form.

I know in the past authors were removed from this group, but still kept their Gr Author status & I know of one librarian who I think was removed - but she could have decided to remove herself. This was all a long time ago.

The annoying thing about flagging is they send you an email for every message saying they are looking into it. I don't need that. Just do it...

& I'm often not sure which flag they are responding to. :/

I already flagged them, but this latest one seems as if they are making the effort to be less obvious than the ones prior. If they are a real reader who doesn't comprehend what the group is for then support just needs to tell them to knock it off. They get that as a warning. If they post again, they're gone as they would have proven they were, in fact, up to no good.

I never realized just how many variations scams could take. Having one of them message me about getting more people to read my books was bizarre. I have NEVER wanted to be a writer. Support deactivated that within a day.
