Lynn | 2344 comments Thank you to all who voted in the selection process. Here's the list of the winners, in order of the number of votes they got. The top two were tied, with each one getting votes from almost 2/3 of the voters! There were four more books that came in just one vote short of making the cut, so if your nomination didn't win this time, consider nominating it again when we select the July-December list.

Winners:
John Boyne – THE ELEMENTS (nominated by Lyn)
Jess Walter – SO FAR GONE (nominated by Ann D)
Ian McEwan – WHAT WE CAN KNOW (nominated by Ann D)
Audrey Magee – THE COLONY (nominated by Gina)
Marianne Wiggins – PROPERTIES OF THIRST (nominated by Lyn)
Serhiy Zhadan – THE ORPHANAGE (nominated by spoko)

Spoko is going to manage the nomination process for Classics Corner this time around and should be kicking it off soon. For those of you who nominated winners in the Reading List selections, I'll be putting the schedule together after we have the winners from CC.

Sue | 4515 comments I was just going to send in my votes when I saw you declared winners. Sorry I waited til too close to the deadline. A couple of mine made the final list!

Lynn | 2344 comments I'm so sorry, Sue! I had just posted the list of winners when I realized that I'd promised a midnight Sunday deadline. When I didn't get any votes for a few days, even after the reminder yesterday, I just assumed that everyone who wanted to vote had done so. Next time I'll try to reach out to regular voters who haven't submitted votes before I finalize things. I'm glad some of your choices made the list anyway.

What a great list! My other book club is reading another John Boyne this spring, ALL THE BROKEN PLACES. I have loved the two books that I have read by him.

spoko (spokospoko) | 259 comments I’m also pretty excited about the John Boyne. I have liked/loved the other couple that I’ve read from him, and I’m re-reading A History of Loneliness for an IRL book club later in the year.
