Jason Oliver | 3245 comments Wind in the Willows is my wife's favorite story of all time. My kids and she watch the movie or listen to the book regularly. Despite this, I haven't seen the movie all the way through or listened to book. I decided to rectify this situation.

Wind in the Willows is a beautiful story of friendship and what being a true friend means, whether is sacrificing for your friends, picking them up when they are down, coming to their rescue, giving words of encouragement and affirmation, as well as performing an intervention.

The story revolves around a cast of animals, Mole, Water Rat, Badger, and Toad being the main characters. The story starts with Mole becoming bored with his mundane life and he sets off, finding Water Rat and living with him. Here the adventures begin with getting lost in the Wild Woods, stealing motor cars, escaping jail, raiding a "fortress". This book has friendship, true lasting friendship that is not always clean and pretty. It has fights and adventures. It has bad and good.

The only knock against the book. Why do all the others even put up with Toad!!

Toad is FUN!
He is also annoying, self-centered, oblivious of other's need but aren't we all of us sometimes cranky to our best friends and still enjoy their company?
