I need to look at the lists more carefully to do all my new adds, but I have 16 of them on my TBR right now and have read 7 others already. 5 of the 7 are in the mystery category and one romance and one debut. I usually end up with about 30 on my TBR and set a goal of around 20-25 for the year.
One thing I want to note is Harlan Coben's book. He added Reese Witherspoon as a co-author. I was bummed he did that because he has been a go-to author for me for 20 years. I have read everything he has ever written. I haven't read that one though because I don't know why he did that. I like her as an actress, but he didn't need the popularity boost or her "help" to write a good book. I am positive I will read it, but it prevented me from PreOrder which I have always done before.
Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts on the lists!
I haven't had a chance to add to my shelf yet either. I recognize many of the covers though, some I've read and some are definitely on my TBR. I'm sure I'll add plenty more. I'm excited to have more time to really go through them.
re: the Harlan Coben / Reese Witherspoon book - I actually preordered a signed hard copy. I was so excited for it! I do't know the details, but my guess is that it worked in reverse to what you mentioned. I don't think Coben was looking to get Reese on one of his books. My guess is that Reese had an idea and needed a good author to help her write it. So, it's probably her idea and input, but his writing.

Ok, I have already put my votes in this morning and I was surprised on how many books I'd read or at least was on my want to read list!
(obviously kept up with popular new releases more this year)
I'm now about to leave work and start on those lists!

I haven't even had a chance to look at the books to vote on yet. When you all add books to your new Choice Awards each year, do you include books you've already read or do you only add books you need to still read?
Okay, I've gone through the pages of books for voting. For some reason, I was thinking I did such a good job this year but now that I've compiled everything, it's almost the same as last year! lol funny how I felt like I'd done better 😂🤣
I have 100 books on my shelves and I've read about 50 so I'll have 50 that I need to read!
Another thing I wonder about is this (Have we talked about this before?? I don't remember)Having multiple books by the same author in one category. Why?!
I feel like one book per author per category is good.
Otherwise the votes could get spread out too much (Freida McFadden has 3 books in the Mystery/Thriller category. )
Plus!!! I would like to see as many different authors as possible get into the voting.
YES!! I don't really jam with Freida McFadden so I'm really bummed she took up 3 spots in one of my favorite categories!I noticed the romance category has 2 different authors, both with 2 books each in there. . .
But I 100% agree - I wish just 1 book per author per category
I noticed that too. They should limit to one entry per category for an author. I would also like to see more authors get nominated.
It doesn't even benefit the author. McFadden has loads of fans and I'm sure many of them loved all those books, but their votes will be split between her nominations. She actually has a lower chance of winning that way. They should probably just choose one, maybe the highest rated of the three?
