How can I improve in strumming, I always change my strumming patterns when i play a song

A good method is to just slowly try out the strumming pattern you're wanting to play. Like if it's 'up up down' instead of the usual 'down up down', practice hitting the strings slowly in the 'up up down
'motion'. Don't forget, your hand motion should stay the same even though the pattern is different- your hand should constantly be moving up and down like normal if that makes sense
