Welcome to Gothic Revival! I’m so excited you’ve found your way here.
I’ve been a fan of Gothic stories for as long as I can remember. As a teenager, those covers of shadowy manors shrouded in fog — and a young woman fleeing into the night — promised the perfect blend of romance and spine-tingling suspense.
As I got older, I fell in love with the classic Gothics like Rebecca and Jane Eyre, where atmosphere and emotion intertwine so beautifully. And with the rise of newer novels like The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and Mexican Gothic, that old spark has been rekindled.
This group is a gathering place for readers who love both the classics and the modern revival — a safe corner to talk about eerie mansions, haunting memories, and the heroes (and heroines) who dare to confront them.
What was the first Gothic story that captured your imagination? Or what are you reading now that keeps you up at night?
