My Week 1 Discussion Post:

I am very intrigued so far! I can't wait to unpack all the characters' backstories (especially Matthias, who it seems we'll meet more in depth next week!).

The overall story setting is well done, and I love all the descriptions Bardugo is including.

Currently Inej is my favorite character, but I've heard the fandom saying they love Kaz, so I look forward to getting to know him better. So far his motives seem very straight forward and money-oriented, but Bardugo has definitely alluded that there's more to his story. I wonder if this has anything to do with his gloves maybe?

To be perfectly honest, I've been pretty skeptical of this book, but I'm pleasantly surprised! I've only read about 100 pages, and I think I can definitively say I am out of my book slump. (Which is quite frustrating because I have finals coming up and likely will not have time to read a lot until winter break :( .
