What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

All I remember is that a girl get to go for the summer in a beach house and she meets a man who claims he lives in one of the houses on the beach however in the end we understand that he was trespassing and was illegally living there. He goes to jail for quite some time and tell her to not wait for him but at the end when he gets out of jail she is there, waiting for him. That is all I remember, I read it couple of years ago and it was new back than so probably around 2020. All help is welcome as I have been trying to remember this title for months now.

Are these characters adults?

I think they were in college or fresh out of college

It sounds a bit like heart bones by Colleen Hoover. I can’t remember whether he goes to prison for a long time though.
