- Read a book published in December, or read a book with a blue or green cover in honor of December's birthstone, the Turquoise

2. December - National Learn a Foreign Language Month Celebrated since at least 2009, National Learn a Foreign Language Month highlights the benefits of learning a second (or more) language. Some of these benefits include brain growth, better memory, better listening skills, higher verbal and non-verbal intelligence and improved attention span.
**Read a book that is published in more than one language, or that is set in a location whose primary language is different from your own.

3. Featured Author Challenge (FAC) - Annabeth Albert: Read one book written by Annabeth Albert, or any author with her first or last name.

Read a book that is next in line in a series you started or a book that has been lingering on your TBR shelf.

9. December 31- New Year’s Eve
Read a new to you author or a book in a new to you series or a book you would stay up late to read.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.
