Should the Floating Hotel be called a “space cruise ship”? Why Veronica can't make change. Tom tries not to insult Stephen's intelligence. And hoorah for N. K. Jemisin!

Wanna hear something wacky?

That novel, No Country for Old Men, is partly inspired by a true story about a contract killer named Charles Harrelson who murdered judge John Wood on the orders of Jamiel Chagra. In the film adaptation, the bounty hunter searching for the killer Chigurh is played by Harrelson’s son Woody.

Stephen Richter (stephenofskytrain) | 1674 comments Of course the book in now on sale. Yes, i wanted to be hit over the head on why the Grand Abeona Hotel was so famous. The blurb gave me hope there would be descriptions worthy of a brochure. I wanted to be angry i could not book a reservation. The book never clicked for me, Don't bring up Casablanca and then not deliver the goods. The " Imperials" are bad enough to place undercover agents to arrest a Dissident Writer and broadcaster and yet this "Imperial" boot never shows up in the backstories?

Ruth | 1803 comments I’m glad to hear that Tom and I will be able to hang out and discuss our shared love for Casablanca, just before Veronica and I have our fight to the death.

John (agni4lisva) | 374 comments Thanks for reading out my comment about Robert Jackson Bennett

My bad for spelling it RJK rather than RJB. I am tripping over my fingers again. :-(

I agree with the sentiment that you expressed - it would be very well deserved if he was more well known.

I am doing my bit - I am planning to recommend The Tainted Cup to the lovely ladies at my local book club - they have a penchant for murder mysteries and first and foremost that is what it is. Slowly but surely, one book at a time, I am converting them to SFF :-D
