We'll Prescribe You a Cat by Syou Ishida - 4* - My Review

This book comprises six interconnected stories of patients who visit Nakagyō Kokoro Clinic for the Soul in Kyoto, Japan. It is a mental health clinic accessible only to those who need it. The clinic's doctor prescribes a cat for the patients, and they feel better due to their new feline companion. The cats are just “regular cats,” and anyone who has owned a cat will recognize their behaviors. The book is about the effects of alienation and isolation. This is a sweet novel about human-feline bonding. It is uplifting and positive. As a cat lover, I enjoyed it very much.

There are a lot of recent Japanese books that are short, uplifting and feature cats! I am also a cat lover , and I have this one on my TBR.

I find that I enjoy lots of Japanese authors. I haven't figured out exactly why, but I just go with it. I read this one for Play Harder where I needed a book with a cat on the cover, and this one was on my TBR.
