1. This is the only book by Hempel that is on the list but have you read any other books by this author?

2. Short stories are you a fan or foe?

3. Did you have a favorite story? If so which one?

4. Does this book belong on the list? Any other thoughts.

1. First book by this author.

2. I do not usually seek out short stories but I do like Haruki Murakami's short stories.

3. The story that included Jell-O Pudding made me giggle. Most impactful Beg, Sl Tog, Inc, Cont, Rep.

4. Yes, short stories belong on the list.

Valerie Brown | 908 comments Well, I actually read another BOTM! Yay! Sadly, I didn't really connect with this collection.

1. First book by Hempel. I read this one as part of a larger collection of her stories that I own. I hope the rest are better.

2. I am a minor fan, but I think I have to be in the mood or it has to be the right writer.

3. The hospital one was the most thought provoking for me.

4. I don't think I can be the judge of this.

2. I am not reading much short fiction usually.
3. I liked "Nashville Gone to Ashes" very much. It is kind of sad as it deals with loss but also got a wonderful sense of humor.
4. Yes I think it does belong on the list. I think she got a wonderful way of writing.
