Mandaa S | 3 comments Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for a horror book.

I kinda wanna have the feeling that you can’t put down the book, because it’s so intense and interesting, also because you are a little bit scared that it may escape from the book.

Do you guys have any recommendations or any favorite books that fits my very diffused description?? >_<

Bethan | 115 comments Can you narrow down what sort of Horror appeals to you?

Supernatural, slashers, creature features, etc.?

Mandaa S | 3 comments I like Stephen King a lot. Mostly I like supernatural or slasher!

Randy Money | 464 comments The Only Good Indians or, maybe even more so, My Heart Is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones

The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix, if you like a bit of humor with your horror.

Supernatural is my top subcategory. Some favourites:
A Christmas Tale
Ghost Story
Faerie Tale
The Ghost Woods

A little late to the party here, but while slashers are a bit lower on my list of favorite subgenres, I still loved My Heart Is a Chainsaw and the second book in the trilogy, Don't Fear the Reaper. Still need to read the 3rd book - I love the main character, Jade!

Though I will say that The Only Good Indians is brilliant, and perhaps my favorite of his works.

Randy Money | 464 comments Also, if you're looking for a horror/thriller mix, Riley Sager seems to specialize in it. I've read Final Girls, The House Across the Lake and The Last Time I Lied. That last is probably my favorite of the three.

I didn't think I cared for slashers, but some recent writers have been playing around with them in creative, entertaining ways.
