20.4 Emma (1815)

Austen began Emma with the intent to write "a heroine whom no one but myself will much like." The 1995 film adaptation, Clueless, created an "Emma" who was perhaps much more widely adored. Read a book that has been adapted into a movie, or read a retelling of one of Austen's novels.

When you claim the book-to-movie option, please include a link to show that there was a movie adaptation.

If a movie is made from one short story in an anthology, would that work provided I read the entire book?

Yes, we discussed this prior to the season starting. If it is known to be in production / have a release schedule it will count.
