Currently FINALLY reading Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

I read this originally when it first came out, and I’m re-reading it now at 41 because I want to read the 2 new books. Amazing how it still hits close to home. Suzanne Collins, you magician

This is the series that made me fall back in love with reading when I was about 15!! I’ve re-read it probably about 4 times, including this year at the age of 28 and I still love it!

It's so good!!

@megan this series got me into reading more post apocalypse/ dystopia, kind of why I am reading Battle Royale all the moment

Just finished rereading and annotating

hi, I'm a bit late to start. I have seen the hunger games movies so many times. Have the books over 10 years i guess. But for some reason never got into it.
Then when I saw this discussion, wanted to start with you guys.

if it makes you feel better, Ajanta. There are a ton of movies (based on the book) that i never read the book, like The Marstin, for example. And it haunts me to this day, so it's better late than never, lol

Favorite series EVER!!!

I started re reading with everyone else. This is my first time reading a book on a group. Btw I’m als annotating!

Read the trilogy for the first time this past spring, and fell in love. I did finally get around to watching the movies last month.
I'll read Songbirds and Snakes sometime in the spring, and I'm holding off on Sunrise on the Reaping until it comes out in paperback (my books need to match!!)

I would KILL to read it for the first time again ☺️ it was THAT good!

I've re-read the first book on Hunger Games, and the Sunrise on the Reaping was a great book!

I didn't really like ballad of songbirds tbh. I couldn't get into it even though I was excited about reading it. all the other books I've loved, and it was fun re-resding the other two.

Sunrise of the Reaping makes Hamish make so much more sense. It is such a good book!

Okay the hunger games is my favorite series of all time but I feel like my favorite was sunrise on the reaping, just the characters, attention to detail and the way it was written is amazing. Its not like its way better than the others, its just if I HAD to pick a fav

It was so good!

It was even better when I reread it last year because of Sunrise of the Reaping. It makes me rethink the whole series in a whole new light when I read Sunrise of the Reaping. And SotR it did tie Songbirds and Snakes and the trilogy nicely (besides not like as much as both)
