But will these change with Part 2? Instructions for Part 2 are here at the top.

If you put a book on the top spot, it will earn 100 points. If someone puts it on the second spot, it will earn 99 points (a total of 199 points). And so on.

All: Deadline is tomorrow, 11:59 PM. You might want to recheck your votes. I will compute the final scores based on the 12:00 AM scores. Good luck!

The final scores that I used are the ones I captured at 12:15 AM (view spoiler) . Let's now reveal the five participants who received the highest number of points.

Congratulations! I'll keep in touch with you regarding the special stamp and the bookish giveaway (view spoiler) .
Thanks to everyone for participating! See you at the next meme!
Since the meme is over, I'd like to put in some of my reactions:
-I was not shocked that Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone topped the Listopia list, but what is shocking is that it took until the last day before it snatched the top spot from The Remains of the Day.
-In the original Top Five, only two made it to the Top Ten (The Remains of the Day and The Book Thief).
-It is slightly disappointing that one of the most mentioned books in Part 1, A Tale of Two Cities, didn't even make it to the upper half.
-Aaron pointed out that most of our local book selections are at the Bottom Ten of the list.

This inspires me to do a statistics based on the number of members who read our book selections and average rating... when I have the time. Haha

Also, I have never been a master of anything! Haha!
Thanks Angus, Aaron, Ella and Meliza!

We have just wrapped the Top Fives at TFG5 + High Fidelity book discussion last weekend but the anniversary month is far from over. So let's continue riding on the waves of nostalgia by choosing our Top
540 F2F books (not the F2F book discussions but the books themselves). Please check out the instructions below:Part 1: The Top 5- We're done with this but you can still do it, if you want.(view spoiler)[
1. Select your Top 5 F2F Books and post them on this thread. No more, no less, please.
2. Post the list in ranked order. 1 is the highest, 5 is the lowest.
3. Optional: post a picture of the books to make it more fun!
4. Optional: add comments, such as why this book, your feelings on this book, etc.
You have one week (until April 22) to participate in Part 1. That's because this meme comes in two parts. But let's check out our Top 5 F2F books first before we go into Part 2. I'll update this message for further instructions next week.
What if I was not able to attend the book discussion of the book that I want to select? - That's okay. We are selecting books, not book discussions.
What if I'm new to the group? - Hopefully you've read at least 5 of the 40 F2F books. That should be enough. Don't know the complete list? Read on!

Part 2: The Top 40
Who would have thought that we have just reached 40 months, 40 books, 40 online + offline discussions, 40 unforgettable moments?
In the music world, 40 is a sort of magic number. There are many hit lists that feature 40 singles. Some of these are Billboard's Mainstream Top 40, BBC and MTV's Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart, etc. The singles are ranked based on radio and video airplay, sales, etc., and the results are audited by big accounting firms.
Why 40? I have no idea. But I digress. For the second part of this meme, we will not rank 40 singles. We will, instead, rank our 40 F2F books. Please check out the instructions below:
1. Go to this Listopia list.
2. Click the Vote For This Book button for each book that you've read and liked. Vote for as many books as you can. If you've read only one, vote for that. But if you've read and liked all our F2F books, vote for them all.
3. Check out your votes at the right side of the screen (for the desktop version). Ensure that your votes are ranked accordingly. 1 is the highest, 40 (or whatever biggest number is displayed) is the lowest.
4. Watch and wait.
Notes
-If you are voting for the Shakespearean play assigned to you last F2F36 or any Shakespearean play that you've read, please vote for The Complete Works by William Shakespeare instead of adding the title of the play.
-Please don't bother adding books because I will delete them (view spoiler)[unless this list is used in the future to accommodate future F2F books (hide spoiler)].
So what was Part 1 all about? - The participant whose Top 5 books earn the highest sum of points in the Listopia list will be hailed as the uhm, TFG List Master! (view spoiler)[If you have better suggestions for this title, please let us know! (hide spoiler)] And no, you can't edit your Top 5 anymore. These are now recorded.
For participants who posted a picture, they will earn an additional 50 points. For participants who included descriptions of their Top 5, they will earn an additional 50 points. So if you did both of the optional steps, you will earn an additional 100 points. And no, you can't edit your post anymore. These are now recorded.
What if I didn't join Part 1? - You can still vote, but you will be out of the competition. In other words, you have no chance of winning the title.
I was [insert reason here] last week. Can I still post my Top 5? - Yes! However, you will still be out of the competition.
Can I change or rearrange my Top 5 in the Listopia list? - Ideally, you must stick to your original Top 5. Whatever you vote for and however you vote for them, the Top 5 in the first part of this meme will still be the basis of your points.
You have one week (until April 29) to participate in Part 2. The TFG List Master will be announced on April 30. He or she will earn a special TFG Passport sticker and a bookish prize.
Please let's not rig this (i.e. no vote buying or influencing). Have fun voting!
