dark romance lovers discussion

hi guys!!!
I wanted to make this group because I get a lot of messages from people on here regarding dark romance. anything from requests for recommendations to why do I think dark romance is important and how it heals people are things I have received ... yeah, we get deep in goodreads dm's lmao
but I wanted to make the group since goodreads is now taking away direct messaging. I know dark romance can be an uncomfortable topic for people so they reach out privately (which you are still more than welcome to do!! my tiktok is dogpaws806 and im always happy to respond to dm's) BUTTTTT I think having a group of people who like the same things and are happy to discuss and have open conversations about these deeper topics will also helpful!

plus, im gonna be real... I dont know everything and sometimes I dont know how to really respond to some of the questions I get asked, so this will be beneficial for not just you but also me! we are also all drawn to dark romance for different reasons, and while my reasons and words may not be what you need, someone in here could be the person you connect with!

I want this to be a safe, judgement free space. I don't care if you don't like something, if someone loves it, LEAVE THEM BE! something that gives you the heebeejeebee's could be healing someone else's trauma. we have all experienced different lives and different pasts. we all don't need the same things!!

now I am ALL FOR open conversations and asking questions and people wanting to understand each other and different triggers and sub-genres. I love seeing those conversations, but if anything starts to get disrespectful and nasty, i will be shutting it down immediately. i will not tolerate anyone bringing anyone down.

that being said, ofc there are books that cross the line (the pedophilia book that was all over during the summer im looking at you), but that is VERY rare and I doubt will be an issue. like I said you may not like it, but is there actually anything wrong with it or the person reading it? no. leave them alone. scroll or go to a different discussion :)

I hope you guys like the group!!! I really want it to be a fun space filled with amazing book recs and even more wonderful people!

My last read is god of wrath i totally recommend and currently I am/was reading is god of ruin also a very good dark romance I feel bad I won’t finish it but I guess everything is meant to be as it should be. I have a question—not so much about book recommendations, but more about where I can publish a book I’ve written. I have really strict parents and I wouldn't want them to know so if you know a place where i could publish it with out them knowing that would be great!

if you are wanting to publish publish then I would say amazon! a lot of authors go through them and make their book available in kindle unlimited! not really sure how it would work if you are wanting to keep it a secret because you would be making money and with that comes other responsibilities
if you are just wanting to publish somewhere online (not making money) then I would say wattpad!
if I were you I would look for author groups on Facebook! there are a lot of them and ive heard the people in those are extremely helpful!!
