The previous thread was very old, so time for a new one.

Old members or new, please introduce yourself.

I'm Carol & I have been a member of Goodreads since 2013.

I am married with two adult children & next year I am going to become a grandparent!

Reading is my main hobby, but I also like preserving. I have just started pool walking to try to lose some weight. No luck with that, but I have been amazed at the feeling of well being it gives me.

I also volunteer at one of my town's local museums. I am in my final year on the committee. When the little one arrives I want to spend as much time as possible with him/her as the girls are talking about joining the exodus to Australia within three years.

Hey BLKs!
I’m Sharlene, a librarian in the beautiful Gisborne.
I’ve been a member of Goodreads for over a decade, was super active when I was a student, working part time, childless, reading 100+ books a year.

Now I’m a Mum to a very active 8 year old, have a niece stay with us during the year, a nephew staying with us during the summer, I’m back to working full time (only get the stats off!) and have only read 27 books so far this year.

I soooo desperately want to finish a Popsugar Reading Challenge. Maybe 2026 will be the year!

Hey everyone!

I'm Erica. I've been on Goodreads since about 2013 too. Hard to believe! Before Goodreads I'd kept a reading journal since I was about 12.
I live in the windy capital and I love it here. I have a little dog that loves exploring the town belt... when we're not curled up on the couch with a good book.
I'm also active in the Predator Free space and spend many a weekend trapping, weeding and planting natives in local reserves :)

Hi Shar!

You don't mean that you work seven days a week - do you?

What a wonderful thing to do!

My very small part - when our last cat died we decided not to replace her. Juno had been a ruthless killing machine - other than bizarrely she loved quails! We didn't even have lizards on our property & they took years to come back.

& I didn't want an indoors cat.

oh no, our library is only open 6 days. Just the stat days off over Christmas, so we were open on 27 Dec, and are open tomorrow (3 Jan). Library in Gizzy after Xmas and before new years is extremely busy with 20,000 RnV’ers coming to town. Most wanting to charge their device or use the free WiFi. Plus the cruise ships when they can make it to port!

Angie | 177 comments Kia ora - ko Angie toku ingoa. Nō Rotorua ahau. I'm a māmā to 3 teens and work as a teacher aide with a (very) small side hustle as a proofreader.

I love Rotorua - especially our lakes and the beautiful Redwoods. I really enjoy getting out and exploring.

I've been a reader for as long as I can remember, on Goodreads since 2016. I haven't been as consistent with my reading for the past couple of years but I'm hoping to get more done this year.

Good to see you Angie!

I loved walking through the Rotorua redwoods a few years back.
