May 2015 Nominations
James wrote: "Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith."Hi,
This book was read in May last year. Any other suggestion?
I'll nominate Nancy Bilyeau's The Crown. Her third one in the series is just out, The Tapestry, but it's probably best to start with the first one, which is The Crown. It's a thriller set in Tudor England.

Hi Mary Ellen,
We had this book as BOM a few months back, great book. Do you have another great nominations which we haven't read yet?
Timothy wrote: "In The Woods by Tana French"Hi Timothy,
We read this book exactly a year ago (May 2014) :). Any other suggestions?
THanks

How about The Bone Tree by Greg Isles (the 2nd in the trilogy)
I would love "The Bone Tree," or I can also suggest "Our Endless Numbered Days" (debut novel by an author in the UK who is very accessible on Facebook)

Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill"
I read this last year and found it very good."
And it is on my TBR list. 8:D
Karen wrote: "Mockingjay
I nominate Mockingjay, unless it has already been a group read. I can't find the list..."I haven't read this book, but seen the first 2 movies. I am wondering if this book fits in the mystery/thriller/etc category that our group is about. It feels more like a sci-fi book, but I happy stand corrected. I'm leaving it up to the other members to let me know if this book falls within our group.

Do you want to nominate Our endless numbered days? Is it by Claire Fuller?
Thanks

Chava, I have read it, and although I really enjoyed it (gave it 5 stars) it doesn't fit the "mystery/thriller" category. Sorry Karen.

This is the thread for nominations and voting for the Book of the Month for May. We will keep the nominations going until the 26th of April and start voting then.
The following rules apply as always:
1) Authors aren't allowed to nominate their own books
2) 1 book suggestion/nomination per person
3) First come, first serve. So whoever gets their nomination for a book in first, gets dibs on that book
4) A book in a serie is fine
5) Please be mindful that recent books might not be readily available (yet) and be mindful that your suggestion is available in multiple formats.
6) Please check that a book hasn't already been read by checking our unread section of the bookshelf (it's not a 100%, I'm working on it).
Any questions, let us know
