For our group reads for - January - we have chosen two books each with the theme - Summer - a beach read - therefore members will have four to choose from when you vote in the poll. (Once again, all Aussie authors)

Our choices are:

Dead Ahead (Ruthless-the-Killer Mysteries #1) by Susan J. Bruce Dead Ahead by Susan J. Bruce

Ruth is desperate for a fresh start, but a body in her shed, an inconvenient romantic attraction, and a secret childhood reputation as a ‘harbinger of death’ get in the way.

As they do…

Murder and mayhem mingle with matters of the heart as Ruth soon discovers the town holds buried secrets and scandals—some of which may even involve her own late father.

Stillwater (A Luke Harris Thriller, #1) by Tanya Scott Stillwater by Tanya Scott

Luke thought he’d left his violent past behind in this suspenseful debut crime thriller for fans of Lee Child and Jane Harper.

After years away from his hometown of Melbourne, Luke Harris is back on track. All he wants is a normal job, his own house and a dog.

But Luke is a man with a past, where life was anything but peaceful and his skills ran to the dark side. A past not easily forgotten – or forgiven.

King Tide by Luke Johnson King Tide by Luke Johnson

A storm batters the seaside town of Lagunes Bay, unleashing a king tide across the wintry beach. As the water recedes, it reveals a long-buried secret: a body, framed and exposed in the sand.

When the body is identified as a young woman who vanished years ago - with little effort ever made to find her - the entire community comes under suspicion. How did she meet such a gruesome end? What did those closest to her know? Was Tate, the town's golden boy, her final boyfriend? And why has the return of an Anglican priest and his daughter left everyone so tense?

Grave Regret (Dawn Grave #1) by Fiona Tarr Grave Regret by Fiona Tarr

Bringing secrets to light can be dangerous…. keeping them buried might be deadly.

Dawn Grave is a career detective who’s holding on to a dark past - one that destroys relationships and wreaks havoc on her personal life.

For more than twenty years, she’s tried to forget the horrors of her youth - while her sister has spent all that time digging for answers. Now a cryptic text message threatens to throw it all back into the light.
