Harlen | 1 comments Hello all,

my name is Harlen and I am a new author who is looking to start the publishing process of my debut novel in the new year called Angels. The manuscript is currently finished and is in the process of being edited to tone down the 121k word count and to provide a more enjoyable experience for readers.

A quick synopsis for Angels:
The world as we know it came to an end.

The sky is no longer blue, trees no longer flutter in the wind, and the bustling cities filled with giant statues of people have become empty husks filled with a deadly fog. But, to this day, no one really knows what caused the end of the world. The fog had rendered the outside world unlivable without some sort of breathing protection. But, despite this, people have tried to live a normal life.

Zoe is a young girl trying to live her life as a nurse in the mall turned community. Trying to find peace in the nightmares she has of losing her entire family to mysterious shadow beings and lights in the sky. Visions of seeing her father dragged into the sky, seeing her brother sucked into the ocean by a shadow, and the disappearance of her mother into the fog have rendered her grief-stricken and a selective mute.

Robin is a young man who has lived peacefully in a University that people have turned into a safe haven in the dead city he lives in. Living with his best friend, Lauren, along with his other close friends, he has a pretty good life considering the state of the world. But, yet, he can't help but feel that he's missing something. His past, which he lost when he woke up on that beach with a large cut on his head after apparently falling from the sky, has made him question who he actually is.

Both Robin and Zoe question why they bother going on in a world that clearly doesn't want them. It isn't until they find the people they meet in the fog that they get their answer. These people don't continue in such a hostile world for the sake of self-preservation, for greed, or for knowledge. They continue on because of the people they've come to love. In a world full of death and despair, they find that beauty still exists in it through the connection they form with others.

Through Robin and Zoe's journey through the dead city of Venus, they find that the ones they love have given them a sense of meaning and purpose. And, oddly enough, a strange ability to...see people's feelings. To heal from grievous wounds quickly. And, to react to dangers at an inhuman speed. Why do they have these abilities? Why are they seeing lights in the sky? And, why do they both feel a connection to one another despite never meeting? Maybe these "Angels" that they've heard about may hold the answer to these questions.

Now, on top of the manuscript, I'm actually working to turn this into a graphic audiobook. Complete with music, sound effects, narration, and professional voice actors who provide their talents to the various characters Robin and Zoe meet throughout their journey. I've completed the first draft of the graphic audiobook that I'll be able to provide to any prospective readers.

If this project interests you, then feel free to contact me at hbertrand1@hotmail.com so we can have a chat.

Thank you for your time!
