Welcome to 2026's edition of Genre Match!

Each of you will pick 13 (or however many months are left in the year plus one) genres of your own liking and then comment your numbered list on each month’s thread. You can make this list as general or as specific as you’d like.

For instance, the following are my 13 chosen genres for 2026:

On the 25th of each month, I will use a random number generator and find out what number on our lists will be the focus for the next month.

And so on, from there. If you play the entire year, you’ll have 2 genres left in December, which leaves you open to a final ‘surprise’ for the last month of the year rather than automatically knowing what December’s genre will be on 1 November.
