Edwina Book Anaconda | 27319 comments Not sure where to post this but wanted to make you aware of this.

The bot removed the valid ASIN: B084641FWV, replaced it with a bogus one and changed the format from Audible to Audiobook.

Edwina Book Anaconda | 27319 comments Why is "staff" marking so many books as Invalid?

The Audible edition to the book above ASIN: B0DCZTS9L1 is an example.
There's no reason to allow the Kindle and Paperback but not the Audible.

The book is on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Forbidden-Bad-...

On the book above, the bot replaced a valid paperback ISBN with an ebook ISBN and changed the format to Kindle.

Worldcat link to verify ebook ISBN: https://search.worldcat.org/title/140...

Tawnya | 4253 comments Any ACE is automatically being changed to audiobook and e-book.
The bots actually started doing it in November 2024.

They are also combining the e-books and the Kindles. Again, this has been happening for awhile. That is why I have stopped asking support to split them. The bots will just move them again, but in such a way that causes more headaches. On the Amazon page for the book, if you scroll down passed the excerpt, you will see it lists the ISBN13. It should also have the ISBN10, but oh well.

I recall a long time ago you asked for a cover to be updated. It was for an e-book. The link you provided was for the Kindle. I do not know if Amazon was using the ISBNs like they are now. Back then, you said the ISBN was visible in the sample. If you asked today, there should not be an issue.

The bots are not staff. They hate the bloody things too. A member of the staff put the book back to public.
Forbidden Bad Boy

Those jackanapes are supposed to help, but I have seen too many logs where they argue amongst themselves. Lately, I have been referring to them as Gremlins. The name is apropos.

Then why don't they turn them off?

Tawnya | 4253 comments At this point I think the things are actually in control over at corporate.

By the way, Scott, I just came across a request you handled on Sunday for an author who has a space where it is not supposed to be. Usually, you have a certain way of dealing with *issues* that I admire. It is entertaining.

But this time you just moved the books. No snark. No telling them to contact support.

It was weird.

Yes, I am well aware of all of this, but it has nothing to do with my comment about the bot removing a valid ASIN and replacing it with a bogus one.

Hmmm...I was told by a librarian that the book was deleted by staff, and I had to contact support to resolve the issue.

I've not been feeling myself lately.

Thanks Edwina - I've let the team know.

Feel better soon, Scott, I think.
