Small things like these is one of the desember 2025 picks.

I liked it. It was a slower plot book, where we didn't really see the main point and themes to the very end. I wasn't familiar with the historical topic of Magdalene laundries in Ireland before reading this one, and I am thankful for it for teaching me history most don't talk about. I even read some more about the topic afterwards, so it did what it intended to do. I also liked the atmosphere of the book, but it wasn't the most interesting to read in the begining because of the slow plot, but I think that I would potentially like it even more on a re-read.

3.5 stars, rounding it up to a 4 star.

The movie was really good as well, it fitted the book.
