In the book Bad Boy by Walter Dean Myers a realistic fiction novel. The book is about a boy and who doesn't know about his past and who is real mom looked like all he knows his her name and the date she gave birth to him. What the author wanted his readers to understand from this book is that there are some people in the world who don't know who their parents are. For example in the text it says that "I have no memory of Mary Dolly Green. I know that she gave birth to me on a Thursday, the twelfth of August, 1973."(3) This shows that the character doesn't know his real mom and doesn't know that much about her. This proves that the author was trying to give a example to the readers that some people haven't ever seen their mom before and that some people don't have a mom in their family. Overall, the book is telling about what has happen in the characters history and what type of person the character will grow up to be.
In Jack Gantos's autobiography, Dead End In Norvelt, the protagonist, Jack, had a hunting incident. It involved him and his father. After it happened, he has not been listening to his father ever since, but he still shows him that he is listening such ad nodding his head up and down. Therefore, the text states, "I was thinking about that winter hunting incident and hadn't listened to a word Dad said in my bedroom, but whatever he said, I knew he was right and I nodded my head up and down to show him respect." (85). This shows that Jack he has not been paying attention much to his dad ever since the hunting incident happened. This proves that the relationship between Jack and his father have been bad lately. Overall, Jack has not been improving on his relationship with his father.
In the sci-fi/ fantasy book, Vampire Academy 6 :Last Sacrifice , Rose is not in the best position in her life. She got locked up because of her behavior and the principal thought she deserved to be locked away and she deserves the consequences. In the book, "Instead, I looked down at my clasped hands and tried to figure out how I had gotten into this mess." (6) This shows that she doesn't understand why she's locked up. This proves that Rose doesn't think that she didn't anything wrong and that she doesn't deserve getting locked up. Therefore, this is the main idea of the book so far.
