Melissa Abigail (melissaabigail) | 2 comments Hello! So I'm new here and thought I'd start by posting my book. It's a YA coming of age story. The series overall is romantic suspense, but the individual books deal with a range of things including identity, culture and social issues. :) So it's not a light read, but hopefully an interesting one.

Judge by the Cover High School, Drama & Deadly Vices (Hafu Sans Halo, #1) by Melissa Abigail

Judge by the Cover: High School, Drama & Deadly Vices (Hafu Sans Halo, Book #1)

Short Summary: Haruna is an overachiever with dreams of attending the University of British Columbia. Ryu is a bad boy whose only desire is to escape this ridiculous prison called "life."

So what happens when a major assignment pairs them together? And how might getting paired together become the catalyst to change their lives forever?

You can find it on Amazon for Kindle and Paperback if you prefer.

Aysha Baqir Hi, my debut novel, Beyond the Fields, has just recently been released in Singapore by Marshall Cavendish.

In Beyond the Fields, the rape of a fifteen-year-old girl living in a remote village of Pakistan drives her twin sister on a dangerous quest for justice.

Zara and Tara are twins, born to a poor, landless farmer in a remote village of Punjab. During an afternoon spree of games, Tara is kidnapped from the fields and raped. All seems to be resolved after the twin’s parents accept an unexpected marriage proposal for their “dishonored” daughter. But the nightmare resurfaces with a vengeance when a newspaper clipping emerges, calling the marriage into question.

The struggle, between Zara’s quest for justice and the village elders’ tenacious grip on a culture that places family honor above all else, hurls the story into the dangers of an urban center. Determined to rescue her twin, Zara embarks on a harrowing quest for justice, battling keepers of a culture that upholds propriety above all else.
Set in the early 1980s against the backdrop of martial law and social turmoil, Beyond the Fields is a riveting, timely look at profound inequality, traditions that disempower women in our world, and survival as a dance to the beat of a different future.

Beyond the Fields by Aysha Baqir

It's available in Kinokuniya and ready to pre-order on Amazon and Book Depository.

Would love to hear your thoughts and comments on the novel.
