These figures are likely underestimated due to stigma and lack of awareness. There is a lack of Marxist-Leninist analysis and a collective, proletarian approach to mental health, leading to a dominance of liberal, postmodern, and individualist perspectives. This has allowed reactionary forces to co-opt mental health struggles and limited our ability to address these problems effectively. This booklet argues for an urgent need for revolutionary communists and other progressive movements to prioritize mental health as a critical issue.
