I would like to read that book as well, but like Jo, I probably won't have time right away. Maybe right after Christmas I will have time. Ally, around when were you planning on reading it?
...after christmas would be more than fine for me. We'll just keep it in mind for then and see how we go with our other reading. Thanks everyone.Ally

I would totally read Interview with a Vampire again! That was a brilliant book!

I have heard a lot about it! I realyl want to read it but that's quite an undertaking and Ia m soooo behind. Perhaps we could make it a group read? Then I would "have" to read it! ;)
As for Interview with a Vampire again...when?
Mom re Under the Dome its another one on my Christmas list so I guess I will just pop back to that discussion later on.....
Great(you Know what I mean)Ill let you know if I got it and then maybe you could let me know when you are ready to discuss it?I d really appreciate it,Cheers!
I've already read it Jo, but I think it would be a terrific book for discussion and I would participate.
I do an ABC title challenge and I am trying to finish it out so my next five will be:2. Zipporah - Halter
3. The Fourth Hand - Irving
4. The Xibalba Murders - Hamilton
5. Vacations from Hell - Bray
And that would conclude my ABC for 2009!

I loved this book, it really isn't a prequel because Dorothy does come to Oz so, it is rather a retelling. Really good thousgh. I have the second book in the series, Son of a Witch, but haven't read it yet.

I am thinking of starting South of Broad in the next day or two - would anyone be interested to read it with me?
I did not start South of Broad, but I did start The Girl Who Played with Fire. If anyone would like to read it with me, I'd love the company.
I've heard of that book.... Who told me about it??? Hmmm? My mind forgets!

Hi Shelli -
I would love to discuss with you! I am just starting Part 2, so not too far along yet. I will open a thread later today (I am in work now).
Levi - if you decide to pick it up, please join in.
I need to get the first book and read it, but yeah if I can soon enough I will. I might reread Wicked to join in with you guys.
Jo, I have Under the Dome but haven't started.

i read it last year, it was dark, but you got a better sense of who Elphaba "The Wicked Witch" was. if any of you have seen the broadway musical, i have been told that it is very different, tho they both have good reviews
Yeah, I saw it last year Rae, it was an amazing show, and the book is also very good, but the two are quite different.
I will totally re-read Interview with a Vampire. I loved that book...possibly my favorite Rice book! I already read the Lovely Bones and Wicked as well so I don't mind joining in those convos when the threads are up! FUn month!
Suzanne wrote: "I agree with you, Jessica. Rice is one of my favourite authors. Have you read 'Merrick'?"No? What has Merrick written?
Jessica I'll pipe in for Suzanne :)Merrick was written after the later Vampire series she did. I read it so long ago!
OK so I almost done with my first list so now I plan on finishing out the Uglies Series with Specials & Extras and then off to read The Hunger Games & Catching Fire
Diane D. wrote: "Jessica I'll pipe in for Suzanne :)Merrick was written after the later Vampire series she did. I read it so long ago! "

Afsana wrote: "I am looking to read The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson in janruary maybe mid jan anyone interested?"Afansa - I am almost finished with it, and I started a thread under Small Group Reads. Shelli, Yas and me are on it. Please join in that thread when you've read it. Be careful - there are spoilers. If anyone else reads it with you, I hope you will all come over and discuss.

Thats great- I realise there is a thread already but I enjoy a fresh discussion rather then playing catch up up with existing discussions as something I say may have been said or responded to but when I am talking about a book its always nice to get a response re the comment/make the comment.
I also like commenting whilst reading
if I am reading a book on own sometimes I talk aloud to myself re points of the book that I think are strange or what I think will happen

Hi Afsana and Jo. There aren't too many posts under The Girl Who Played with Fire that I started. But there are spoilers and Afsana, you wold not be able to "comment whilst reading". If you start a fresh thread, I might pipe in on it and chat along with you with spoiling for you :)
Diane D. wrote: "Afsana wrote: "Jo wrote: "Afsana wrote: "Jo wrote: "Is anyone reading Under the Dome? I will be done with it by February i think and would love to discuss it. "I am going to try and read it in ..."
ok
its just in another group this was ok and what we did was put the chapter the comment related to anda few lines empty and then made a comment re what we thought ws strange or uncalled for
if it was a general comment that would not spoil anything then we would just say
but eah group is different and will look at the other thread once I have read the book

Afansa - DUH I just saw my TYPO in my post -- What I meant to type was "chat along with you withOUT spoiling for you!!" And your chatting ideas sound great!
Jo wrote: "I could always make 2 threads. Afsana, do you write the chapter and page number before you comments? I dont think the chapters are numbered. "yes I do

It's the prequel to [Book: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz] by [Author: L. Frank Baum] and it looks quite interesting. More of an adults book than a childs and a little bit of philosophy/politics too.
Elphaba wasn't really wicked, she was just misunderstood!
I don't need to read it straight away but if anyone else is interested I'd like to read it alongside others.
