We begin discussing a continuation novel of Austen's Mansfield Park. Mansf. Revisited is written by the well-respected Joan Aiken (1924-2004). "Revisited" is interesting Austen fan fiction. However, Aiken absolutely shines in her young adult fiction. I have just begun he fantastic Wolves of Willoughby Chase series and am eating up every word.

There's a great website created by her estate http://www.joanaiken.com/pages/about....
but SPOILER alert, I believe it gives full summaries of some of the novels, giving away the outcomes.

Which reminds me, please guard your comments against SPOILERS. Give as much detail as your heart desires, but don't give away the action before someone else has a chance to read it! Thanks for joining the discussion!

Lani (lani14) | 57 comments I didn't know she had written so many books but I enjoyed her "Jane Fairfax". That book helped me to understand and like "Emma" better.

Denisa Dellinger | 44 comments I have read Joan Aiken's books. Both Mansfield Revisited and Jane Fairfax and I think I have a couple more. She was an excellent author of young people's fiction. It is written so well and I loved to read the story of Jane Fairfaxes attachment to Frank Churchhill. I always thought the Jane could have a story written for her. I ordered Mansfield Revisited and paid way too much for it because it had been out of print and when I got it, it was a small regency romance. Later, I found it at a used bookstore for about $3. I bought it even though I had already read it.

Laura | 14 comments Joan Aiken has always been one of my favourite authors and I think I went through all her young adult books several times each. She has such an amazing way of telling a story. I haven't read Jane Fairfax but I absolutely love Mansfield Revisited. I think I can safely say I am in a minority of people for whom Mansfield Park is one of their most loved Austen books (poll number 11!). So I was thrilled that the story was continued by such an excellent writer.
