I met Graham at a fan convention last week. I'm glad it was before this episode, and not after. I would have had a hard time separating the very gracious, entertaining man I met from the slimey conniver I saw on the screen. Since he had on his kilt, I might have kicked him in the shins. (just kidding)

I do like Murtaugh (and DID cheer), but I LOVED him in the books. Maybe I just had a different frame of mind when reading? I feel like DG's writing had more humor in it then the show has depicted so far... Anyone else? Murtaugh in the books was a "serious scot" but also made little jabs and funny comments I feel like. Anywhoo...
I liked this episode but was bracing for Wentworth. When 30 minutes had gone by and we weren't close yet I knew it would be next episode.
Claire and Jenny's last conversation was missing something. Seemed like Claire had too much time to think and wouldn't she tell Jenny even more if she had gotten to prepare? I thought the potatoes comments was like a "first thing off the top of her head" thing from the books because Jenny was racing off for home.
I just realized that both my above character comments are comparing directly with the books. I NEED TO LET GO! :) I did like this episode and it was a good set up for Wentworth. SO SCARED for next week!

I'm not ready for the next episode and I don't see how I can prepare for it. I didn't like it in the book and I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to bare it on the screen!!! EEEK!

Waiting two weeks if you are watching on Starz. Episode 16 is to be shown on May 30th. Marathon of first 15 episodes on Memorial Weekend.

wHAAAAT? 2 weeks. Thats such a bummer.

In general, I am fine with the minor deviations from the books for the sake of good television -type of story telling, so I don't mind that Murtagh didn't sing and that Clair sang instead. Several important things happened, like the bonding moments as Jenny learns how much Clair really loves her brother, and Murtagh and Clair learn about each other too.
But I really feel that the episode dragged on. Those moment could have taken half the time. If we were going to have a lull in the action, I would have preferred time at Lallybroch instead. I am wondering how they will have enough time for the rest of the book in just two episodes. Wentworth, and the rescue and the healing, wow thats a lot.

Next book spoiler, kind of: (view spoiler)

1. very little action
2. everyone is waiting for Wentworth and The Abby
3. NO JAMIE!!!
But it was good to see how much Claire is willing to go through to find Jamie and that her love for Jamie is growing....

Tina, I totally agree with you! Hoping they can fit it all in these next two episodes.

Does anyone else constantly have the song "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" running through their head? It won't stop!

Have to say though that I grew up on Big Band music, (no I'm not from the 40's) My mother and her brother listened to all the big bands whenever they could.

Most series I watch that are highly dramatic (Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy) there's always an episode here and there that has less action than what's to come.
I actually liked the episode. I liked watching Claire understand Murtagh, and I liked watching her and Jenny bond. And yes, television Dougal is faaar shittier than book Dougal, I think.

I smell what you're cooking, Sue. We'll have to wait and see how it actually shakes out. I know that the show is not the book, and that doesn't bother me for some reason. Usually, I would be up in arms. But, I'm loving what they are choosing to showcase and am excited to see how it turns out on screen. I was one who was against the casting of Sam. I mean, come on, get a TALL guy to dye his hair red! But, I'm really loving Sam. He's got that je ne sais quoi!
I am anxious to see how they work the rest of this book out in two episodes. Maybe the last episode will be 2 hours?? I haven't heard boo about it but I do know that season 2 is already under way so we'll only have to wait like, 15 years or something, until that comes out :p
Nevertheless, (view spoiler) We'll see what we get. In the end, we always have the books!

And the hot springs. If we just get those I think I'll be happy.

Hm.. Promising!

This link was very serious and I thought, intelliently written about the last two episodes. There is a lot of food for thought in it, about preparing to watch Wentworth.

I agree, they did that in part one too. They waste time with a few boring episodes then try to cram what should be the most interesting parts into one episode at the end cutting out most of the good stuff. People don't need a break as they are suggesting, we want action scenes. I thought Rent was like that too.

Diana is suggesting that episode 16 will be the worst, not 15. So now I'm wondering what they are going to do just build up to it in 15 and cram everything into the last episode?

Did anyone else feel that Laura is playing Jenny too tough. I expected a little more affection towards Jamie and Claire. She seems angry all the time?

I read they cut out the wolf scenes just have the cows. Again I wish they would cut the boring stuff instead of the good parts.

Everyone is acting like this kind of violence is something new. If you've been watching Game of Thrones will have seen it before, perhaps not gay torture rape but sexual violence, castration, and more has been shown on GoT. I don't think this is making landmark TV because it's violent and men instead of women are being raped.
It is in the books, and from Sam's descriptions of the full body prosthetic makeup he'll be using we know it's not going to be pleasant to watch. I admire Sam and Tobias acting this tough scene out. They do deserve credit for doing it. But I wouldn't call it landmark TV.
What will bother me more is wasting time in the Search episode and then spending too much time on the torture stuff, while cutting out the scene's like Claire and the wolves. Or perhaps even the healing process that went on at the Abby. Well, all we can do now is watch it and see what we think tomorrow and next week.

If you want to see Sue's spoiler heavy comment it is here (view spoiler) I know many have read the book/series but we do have member who have not.

I think she has a crush on Sam like the rest of us so take it with a grain of salt.. She's not the most objective reviewer.
If you read DG facebook page she implies that the e-review is not quite accurate as to the sequence of events.
