I just got through this section. Sorry I'm a super slow reader! I got confused about the parts with Seth in them...was Seth really there on the expedition, as someone's "twin"? I thought maybe he could be Fitzjames...but then it was never specified, so I thought maybe he was just a ghost inhabiting Franklin's mind...Any thoughts? It never really mentions how he dies either.

I interpreted the Seth as being a character in both time-spaces - Franklin's and Subzero's.
