My company, Theatre Transit is producing a show that your book club might be interested in. It's called "Matt & Ben" by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers.

If you have read Mindy Kaling's book, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" this play will be very familiar to you. And if you haven't read this book...maybe it should be your club's next book!

Here's more information:
Matt & Ben depicts two of Hollywood's favourite sons - before Bourne, before Batman, before anyone actually gave a damn. When the perfect screenplay falls from the sky, two struggling actors realize some tough choices lie ahead, and that friendship isn't always about good will. How did a pair of Boston bros write a movie that swept the '97 Oscars? Wouldn't you like to know.

Oh, and they're played by women. No big deal.

Theatre Transit brings you this razor-sharp takedown of fame, friendship, and the journey in between.

Written by Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project) and Brenda Withers (The Office), Matt & Ben was the hit of the New York international Film Festival (2002) and this production marks its Calgary premiere.
